About Game Mode
Easy Mode
Enter the U.S. state names you remember and submit them for validation. An answer is only considered correct when it exactly matches the official full state name, and you will earn points for each correct entry. This mode is relatively easy and does not require deep familiarity with the shapes of U.S. states on the map, as the system automatically matches each state name to its corresponding region on the map.
Hard Mode
This mode tests your familiarity with the outline of the U.S. map. During the game, the system will randomly display the name of a state, and you need to click the corresponding state area on the map using your mouse. Each question allows only one attempt. If your answer is correct, the selected state will be highlighted on the map.
How the Quiz Works
Start the U.S. States Quiz timer and type any of the 50 official state names you can remember. Each new correct answer adds 10 points and colors that state on the map. Repeated answers do not add points, and postal abbreviations are not accepted. This United States game ends when you find every state or the ten-minute timer reaches zero.
Scoring and Completion Rules
The highest possible score in this United States game is 500 points. Every correct state is worth 10 points, and incorrect or repeated answers receive no points. Your final U.S. States Quiz result records both the total score and the number of states answered correctly.
Skills This Quiz Tests
Easy Mode focuses on state-name recall, spelling, and the ability to connect names with their locations on a labeled map.
What Is Included in the Map
This U.S. States Quiz covers the 50 states of the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories are not included because they are not states. The map in this United States game uses separate state boundaries so every answer can be matched to one specific geographic region.
Regions of the United States
The 50 states extend across several broad geographic regions, commonly described as the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West. Recognizing coastlines, borders, and neighboring states can make the map easier to remember. Alaska and Hawaii appear as separate map insets because they are not connected to the contiguous United States.
Who This Quiz Is For
This United States game is suitable for students, teachers, geography enthusiasts, trivia players, and anyone preparing to identify U.S. states from memory. Replay the U.S. States Quiz to compare scores, improve recall speed, and measure progress from one attempt to the next.
